Janis represented my partner in the custody of my child.  She's smart, strategic, easy to communicate and looking forward to working together.  I appreciate her work and I will definitely recommend it.  We had filed the papers in Contra Costa County, but she knew the judges, the procedures, and inside and outside the system. She also helped us to keep our costs reasonable.  She answered our questions, made possible scenarios and treated us as partners in the process, rather than talking to us.

Janis Cho lacks ethics. She is a liar, a coward. She pleaded eviction to find it inappropriate. She allowed her client to steal my things and encouraged her. She hid my belongings, signed a contract that all of my belongings were accounted for and nothing was tampered with, and only handed over the key to the storage division in which my belongings were inadvertently thrown away.  There is also a custom of submitting documents that appeal that they cannot be obtained, and at the same time, the deadline for answers and services is overlapped. She cheats desperately. She manipulates the law and cares little about justice. I want to win! If you want something fair, caring, ethical, decent, look at other places. On the other hand, Janis Cho might be right if you are trying to screw someone in. Cutting her corner, lying and other scandals will eventually lead to negative consequences. It's a matter of time...

I was recommended by Janice Cho as a famous lawyer in the Bay Area who was too busy to cover my case. I immediately investigated her Yelp review. I saw a review from a person  I had time to talk before I could ask for advice, so the man who recommended her. He says he recommended another lawyer who he thinks would fit his situation. He thought she was wonderful because she was a friendly and strategic person.

This morning I called her office. Someone called without a greeting, including the company name. The woman on the phone just said "Hello." I thought I had the wrong number right away. Janis Cho asked me to talk. The man who answered "Who is this?" gave her my name. "I have to make an appointment to speak on the phone and I won't talk to you on the phone," he said. She was difficult to understand and not very familiar with. She didn't have time to explain what was going on. And the lawyer was too busy to speak with anyone unless he had booked a $300 consultation. I had a short dialog with the lawyer, who was interested in the case and wanted to see if I was fit. I think it takes only a few minutes to understand that. At least, it's a phone call experience with another lawyer.  "I won't see you unless I reserve a $300 consultation. I'd like to make a promise," she repeated. Thank you.

My feeling is that they lack common politeness in asking who they are, the name of the company, and how they can help them, when hiring someone to deal with reservations on behalf of your work. Instead, this woman comes out as I drove her out. Besides, she didn't really have the right phone, and she couldn't speak her language clearly enough to catch what she was saying.

This lawyer must be a great one, and a very good one. But my experience on the phone wasn't enough to promise.

I just spoke to Janis on the phone. Unlike most family lawyers I've contacted, I don't talk to them until I get $350 to $450. Zhao immediately asked me about my situation. After hearing the specific details of my abnormal situation, she honestly recommended other lawyers that would represent me and explained why. She was very friendly, honest, very strategically, and helped me get the best results, even though I wasn't her client. If I get divorced again, I'll call her!
