(KRON) — A double shooting that took place in East Oakland on Wednesday is being investigated by the Oakland Police Department. The shooting occurred just after 7:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Auseon Avenue, according to OPD.
Officers responded to the area to investigate two ShotSpotter activations, police said. At the scene, officers located two adults, one a female Oakland resident, the other a male Hayward resident. Both were suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers provided medical aid to both parties before medical personnel arrived.
Both people were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. Both are in stable condition, according to police. However, one of shooting victims was arrested after being treated.
OPD Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigators responded to the scene to conduct a follow-up investigation. Police describe the investigation as ongoing.
