Richard Sherman Suggests 49ers Cut Ties With Polarizing Veteran
The San Francisco 49ers are coming off of their first loss of the season, and Richard Sherman thinks it's time for a change. Former 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman has suggested that the San Francisco 49ers should cut ties with veteran cornerback Jack Jones. Despite a 29-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the 49ers' defense was not strong and their quarterback Brock Purdy threw two interceptions. Despite this, Falcons quarterback Michael Penix had an excellent game, with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Jones, who has a tendency to give up big plays and is known for making noise off the field, may face a short leash going forward. Despite his one-year, $1.2 million contract, the team may still maintain a strong lead in the NFC West.
