A car fire inside the Caldecott Tunnel has partially closed Highway 24 eastbound, officials said.

The blaze occurred in the tunnel’s second bore, Caltrans District 4 said on social media. As of 11 a.m. the second bore, which is the left eastbound tunnel, remains closed, according to a 511 traffic alert. The right tunnel has since reopened.

The first signs of smoke were reported at approximately 9:50 a.m., and at least 20 cars were stuck in the tunnel, KGO-TV reported. There were no injuries, the outlet reported.
