Meat spill blocks northbound lanes of I-880 in Oakland

The California Highway Patrol reported the incident at around 6:20 p.m. The three left lanes were closed, with the fourth remaining open. OAKLAND – Several lanes of northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland were blocked Friday evening in the wake of a meat spill, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The spill happened just south of 29th Avenue, the CHP said in a social media post around 6:20 p.m.

The three left lanes were blocked, the CHP said. The fourth lane was open, but motorists were urged to drive slowly through the area.

Traffic was backed up as a result of the spill. The CHP advised motorists to take alternate routes if possible.
