Bay County sends supplies to East Milton Elementary School

The citizens of Bay County know what it’s like to be in the position of asking for help following a hurricane. On Oct. 26, they decided to help pay it forward. Bay County, Florida, has donated $3,000 worth of supplies to East Milton Elementary School in Panama City. The donation came from a longtime friendship between Susan Hawley and Steve Moss, the chairman of the Bay County School Board. Students and families from Northside Elementary School and Breakfast Point Academy in Panama also contributed. The supplies included bottled water, snacks, diapers, and other needs for the school and the community. The supply drive was intended to teach students on both sides about the effects of Hurricane Michael, which affected students in both counties. The idea was to remind students at Hawley's former school of Bay County how much help Bay County received after the storm.
