The new official name was announced at their annual Mighty Real annual gala at the Bimbo's Supper Club in San Francisco. Over $250,000 was raised that night. The next day, the annual galan of Horizons Foundation’s A Night of Pride at the Westin St. Francis celebrated the passing of long-time President Roger Doughty, who announced his retirement. The weekend also included the Castro Street Fair in Castro Street, which was created by City Supervisor Harvey Milk to encourage local businesses and build neighborhood awareness. Donna's Chronicles also featured a film about Bea Arthur, a dedicated fundraiser, activist, and philanthropist who has dedicated over two decades to the LGBTQ Community in San.
