Jurors in the federal bribery and corruption trial of former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao have heard recordings that prosecutors claim show her relationship with David and Andy Duong of California Waste Solutions. The evidence includes photos of Thao, her partner and co-defendant Andre Jones, and the Duongs on a luxury-class flight to Vietnam. The Duongs also allegedly paid the airfare for Thao's teenage son. In another recorded conversation, Andy Duongo complained to Councilmember Kevin Jenkins that Thao was delaying a city purchase of 300 container homes, which was connected to Evolutionary Homes. The trial also saw a change in the jury, with Juror no. 10 replaced by an alternate.
